Finance ensures that DWS meets all financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and stock-listed company. To maintain the firm’s financial health, Finance holds the DWS organization accountable for external and internal communicated targets and commitments, hence an accurate and transparent reporting is key to identify risk & opportunities. As a partner of the business Finance is performing deep dives, sensitivity analyses on the financial performance, competitor benchmarking and supports strategic initiatives and portfolio measures. The Finance department covers a broad range of activities like: Group Finance, Tax, Investor Relations, Planning & Performance Management, Treasury, Regional Finance/CFO, Treasury, Financial Control & Oversight, Finance Sustainability, Compensation Control.
A dedicated regional finance team covers all UK entity reporting, financial control and analytics with focus on the local business areas. They are responsible for delivering key outputs to both internal management and external regulators. Additionally, business and infrastructure aligned stakeholder functions drive the financial performance of the various areas of the firm. Together, we oversee all financial details for DWS globally.
The Risk function is part of the CFO division. Risk has group-wide responsibility for the management of corporate and fiduciary risks as well as for the comprehensive control of risk, and ongoing development of methods for risk measurement. In addition, Risk is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and reporting risk on a comprehensive basis. Risk and capital management is performed via a framework of principles, organizational structures and measurement and monitoring processes that are closely aligned with the underlying business activities and associated risk profile.
In the UK, there are several key teams with local and global responsibilities in the Risk space. From a corporate risk perspective, these cover topics such as Non-Financial Risk, Reputational Risk, Model Risk and UK Capital and Liquidity Adequacy processes. And from a fiduciary risk perspective, these mainly cover activities related to investment risk for the Alternatives business.
